Modifying Entities and Entity Properties
Use the Modify command to change the geometry and characteristics of Lines, Circles, SimpleNotes, BlockAttribute definitions, and Block insertions. You can also change properties of drawing entities such as Layer, LineColor, LineStyle, and LineWeight.
To modify entities:
- Type Modify at the command prompt.
- In the graphics area, select the entities to change and press Enter.
- Specify a change point or specify the Properties option to change properties.
- If you specify a change point, modifications depend on the type of geometry:
- For Lines: Move the Line end points to a new position. The point nearest the selection point is repositioned.
- For Circles: The change point you specify forces the circumference of the Circle to pass through the point, keeping the same center point.
- For SimpleNotes: Modify the insertion point, TextStyle, text height, rotation angle, and text string of single line text.
- For BlockAttribute definitions: Modify the insertion point, TextStyle, text height, rotation angle, tag name, prompt, and value of an attribute definition.
- For Blocks: Change the insertion point and rotation angle of a Block insertion.
- If you specified Properties, specify a property type option:
- Elevation: See the ZPlane command.
- Layer: See the Layer command.
- LineColor: See the -LineColor command.
- LineScale: See the LineScale command.
- LineStyle: See the LineStyle command.
- LineWeight: See the -LineWeight command.
- Material: Specifies a new material name.
- Thickness: See the ZPlane command.
