Constructing Arcs
You can construct arcs of any length or radius. You can also append Arcs to other Line, PolyLine, or Arc entities. All Arcs are drawn from the start point in the positive horizontal direction.
To construct Arcs from three points:
- Click Draw > Arc > 3 Points (or type Arc).
- Click the graphics area to define the start, through, and end points.
- Click to place the Arc.
To construct Arcs from center points:
- Click Draw > Arc and click a center-based option:
- Start, Center, Angle: Lets you select the start and center point in the graphics area. Then you enter the value of the total angle from its chord.
- Start, Center, End: Lets you select the start, center, and end point in the graphics area.
- Start, Center, Length: Lets you select the start and center point in the graphics area. Then you enter the value of the arc chord length.
- Select the required points in the graphics area or specify the option values at the command prompt.
To construct an Arc from start and end point options:
- Click Draw > Arc and select a start and end point-based option:
- Start, End, Angle to select the start point and end point in the graphics area, and enter the positive or negative value of the angle from the chord tangent to the start point.
- Start, End, Direction to select the start point, end point, and tangent direction from the start point in the graphics area.
- Start, End, Radius to select the start point and end point in the graphics area, and enter the value of the arc angle tangent from its chord.
- Select the required points in the graphics area or enter the option values at the command prompt.
To append an Arc to a Line, PolyLine, or Arc:
- Click Draw > Arc > Continue (or type Arc).
- Specify the Append option.
- In the graphics area, select:
- A Line, PolyLine, or Arc entity.
- The Arc end point
