Opening a Drawing at the Command Prompt

Use the SmartOpen command to open an existing drawing by specifying the drawing name at the command prompt. You can use the command in Scripts to open drawings without having a dialog box displayed.

To reopen an existing drawing at the command prompt:

  1. Type SmartOpen at the command prompt.
  2. Enter the name of the drawing file to open including path and extension.

If the drawing exits, it opens.

In contrast to the SmartOpen command, the Open command displays a dialog to browse and specify an existing drawing to open.
