Setting the Display Dialog Box Mode for File Specifications

When invoking file related commands such as New, Open, or Save, dialog boxes display to let you browse folders and specify a file name. The DisplayDialogs command lets you suppress the display of dialog boxes, and you are prompted at the command window to specify the file name.

To set the display dialog box mode for file specifications:

  1. Type DisplayDialogs at the command prompt.
  2. Specify the Yes or No option to specify whether commands requiring a file specification should use dialog boxes.

When prompted at the command prompt to specify a file name, type ~ (tilde) to open the corresponding dialog box..
